Finding Groups,..

Hi everyone,
I was wondering if there was any easy (and free) way to find out what group a auto was issued in?.I've been saving the sides of boxes for the last few years because they do have the group list on them,but I still need to find a way for earlier years,..

I always go to Beckett.com and type the year, the set, and the players name and, if there is an autograph card of that player, it will say what group he is in. Hope I'm answering your question correctly.
