I believe the year was 2011, but I'm not 100% sure. I traded away my 2009-10 Panini Certified Steph Curry Rookie Patch Auto for something (I don't remember what I got in return). Steph Curry hadn't yet become the Steph Curry we know today, so I thought I was making a good trade. Boy was I wrong, lol.....

The trade history doesn't go back that far, so I was wondering if the person I made that trade with still here on the bench and do you still have that card?

Curious as to what was the mistake trade that any of you have made in the past.

Thanks,
Billy

Mike Trout 2010 Bowman Platinum autograph. At the time he was hitting below .200 and figured he was just another overhyped rookie. OUCH! I think I traded it for a Topps Chrome Jason Heyward RC auto and something else.

Betting we all have that one (or more) trades that we regretted. Mine was a Acuna RC mojo pack color (#'d/125) - got a ton of great cards for it, but in retrospect should have held it and either sold it or traded it for high end vintage that I need.

Babe Ruth jersey card 3/3 from leaf certified materials. Got a Ty Cobb jersey card /10 plus several other nice cards for it. The Cobb is the only card I remember or still have though.

I don't think I've made a horrible trade that I regret but I have passed on some what would be later considered steals of the highest order.

Mistake #1. At card show in Syracuse on the early '80s I passed on a ton of unopened packs of 1980-81 Topps Basketball at less than 5 cents each. Instead I bought a tremendous amount of 1980 Topps Football packs at the same price. After all, it had Otis Anderson's RC in it and the Topps basketball only had Bird and Magic RCs................AND I WENT TO MICHIGAN STATE TO BOOT. SAME CLASS AS MAGIC! SMH!!!

And when I am talking about a tremendous amount of packs, I filled my dad's station wagon (dating myself with that reference! LMAO!) with 1980 Topps football packs (which I opened ) . And they could have been 1980-81 Topps Basketball packs instead.

Mistake #2 In 1986 or 87 I went into a small, struggling card store in suburban Syracuse (Chittenango to be exact) and saw at least 50 complete sets of 1986-87 Fleer basketball with the stickers for $5 each. I mulled over making an offer on all 50 or so of them but thought basketball (which was considered garbage back then) would never amount to anything. So I at least bought 1 set with stickers for $5 and left the rest behind. Again great decision by me!

So my two biggest mistakes were ones of passing on something vs getting rid of something too soon. That may be even more painful!!

My biggest mistake was I bought my sons each a 2000 Fleer greats of the game box for xmas. They both pulled a Kirby Puckett auto and cried because they wanted a Cubs auto so we sold them for 10 bucks a piece. Ouch!!!
