General Collecting Help/ Questions

Hey,

Thanks fo taking a second to read this. I have been out of the hobby for the past five or six years and it seems to have changed quite a bit. I have several questions.

1. Does anyone know of any facebook trading groups? I have joined several but they all seem to want to sell $2000 Elly De La Cruz autos; no one seems to be trading.

2. Does anyone actually trade on Sports Card database? It looks like it might be active. Any feedback on that site?

3. Which sites are you using to store pictures of your cards? I did photobucket; then sports card album but a lot of my links seem to have broken. I would like to use my phone to take the pics and find a site to upload them with a minimum of time and effort. If I have to scan them in again, I'll never do it as it took years to get that done.

4. Are there any sites for basketball or soccer or golf collectors that have active traders?

5. Where do you guys buy supplies like toploads and 9 sleeve card pages? Is there a good website with cheaper prices then my local card shops in STL?

Trading; not buying mostly.

1970-1974 topps baseball collectors

you can pretty much search/find anything that you want, just gotta look through different groups.

@katester44 Yeah, I joined about 4 different groups that advertised as "buying, selling, or trading." I have yet to see one trade on any. I got exceited because one had a "setbuilders help" thread. The last three posts have been sales for $200, $500, and $200 for high end cards. Not much "setbuilding" going on. That's why I asked. I appreciate the help.

No problem - in the 3 "non-vintage" groups, I am making multiple trades a week. Was very skeptical going in about the honesty of it all, especially since my online trading history is basically here on The Bench with the trade manager to keep everything on the up and up. But for the most part, has been very positive running on the honor system so to speak.

Sports Card Forums has pretty active basketball and hockey traders.

I get all my top-loaders and sleeves from Amazon.

You can upload your pics to flickr.com but there is a limit to how many you can upload for free. I forget how many you can upload for free... I had to purchase a subscription for about $8 a month to keep all my photos. If you get the subscription there's no limit to how many photos you can store and imo the site won't be going anywhere...
