I'm thinking about collecting varius years and players from the different years of these sets.

Question?

What years are the on the card autos. I'd rather collect "on the card" than a sticker.

Loyalty broke it down nice... I actually collect them in that order too... 2000, then down to the sticker autos of 04. My personal fave set is the 2000 set... but a lot of expensive ones. 2001 are sharp looking too, same with 2002. If you are going to try and complete these sets, it will cost a pretty penny, but as a causual collector, they are great to pick up! Good luck with whichever set you go with!

Yeah the on card autos of HOFers will be hit in these sets, thats for sure... other sets to maybe look at of past players and greats are the Topps Archives autos and the all-time fan faves autos... great looking throw-back type cards with on-card autos.

I have been working on the 2000 GOTG set myself. I think it is the best-looking AUTO set ever, especially given the fact that several players that signed have now passed. Here are some pics of my collection thus far:








Like Obed said, if you are wanting amesome on-card AUTOS of HOFers/Retired players - Topps Archives, Topps Fan Favorites, and Topps Archives Reserve had some beautiful ones. You can also check out 2003 Topps Gallery HOF Edition AUTOS - they were great as well.

ragtop12…..Ya, I like the look of the Topps Archives autos, thanks for the reminder to look there also.

Tim Carroll…..Awesome collection. I like the Stargell and Yaz best. I have been collecting 2002 and 2003 topps Finest autos…..on the card (still need Yogi and Mays, among others). This is a small set, so I am looking to expand my HOF’er and star auto collection, hopfully "on the card", I think this does add more character. Thanks for the advice.

I have enjoyed adding GOTG autos to my collection for some time. Have a few player autos with different color ink. (i.e....George Kell autos come in black of blue ink versions)

One set is overlooked for on card autos due to the name "SP legendary Cuts". The 2004 edition has 5 differnt "on card" auto insert sets.

Good luck with your on card collection. That's been my focus for a few years now.

Nice sets to collect, Ive got a complete set of 2006 GOTG Au with SP's took me over a year to complete it im now working on 2001 GOTG im almost 70% complete, have a couple extras from both, lmk if your interested, good luck, awesome sets to colect but a bit pricey.
