A little back story on this one.

I’m a HUGE fan of Oldies Soul music, not just any oldies Soul but particularly the Stax/Volt sound that originated in the south with such artists as Otis Redding, Sam & Dave, Isaac Hayes, Johnnie Taylor, Rufus Thomas, and many others. The Stax sound was far superior, in my opinion, than the more ‘popular’ Motown and one of the big reasons was the Stax house band Booker T. & the M.G.s.

I decided to start an autograph collection of some of the great Stax artists, but found in my research that many are deceased. Others are very difficult to get address for. So my project starts out with a grand total of 1 with no others in sight, at least until I have more time to dig.

Donald ‘Duck’ Dunn of Booker T. & the M.G.s
If you don’t think you know any oldies soul you are already wrong. Their hit “Green Onions” seems to find its way into tons of movie trailers and TV shows annually.

Looks like it received a little water damage but it still looks pretty good.

Great live performance here of Green Onions.
