how to list up and ship a massive lot?

basically im looking at selling all my inventory in one lot on ebay so i can get some new stuff in. i have around 400-500 cheap gu/autos stuff that i would sell on here for 1.50-2 that im looking at selling all at once because im sick of dealing with the cheaper gu. when i was selling the most and doing the best was when i was dealing in nicer stuff and not the cheap gu. its around 200-220 football 175 ish basketball and probably 50 plus baseball. its mostly nice brands but im going to put in all my just/tristar etc stuff as well to get rid of it all. i expect around 400-500 for a lot like this as they generally go for about a buck apeice on ebay.

my questions are how should i list? i know alot of pictures are key and maybe a list. but should i sell them all in one lot? or should i do a football lot a baseball lot and a basketball lot seperatly?

im also considering throwing in all my inserts and RCs that i had to sell just to get rid of all my lower end sale stuff to get some nicer stuff in an make some room. good idea or not?

and the big question is how to ship? shipping this many cards is tricky and i need to make sure they get there undamaged because i cant afford to take a hit like that.

Here is what I would do:

1. 3 lots, one for each sport.
2. Depends on what RC they are, I like that idea.
3. Double, or maybe triple the box you are shipping in.

As far as the shipping goes, use a flat rate box... when I sell heavy base lots, generally 2000 cards or more, it saves me a ton... even over parcel post....

there are no high price rcs i have around 1000 baseball ones that i was going to sell in a seperate lot as some point and hope to get 75-100 for it but i figure i could save on fees and shipping if i sell them with the baseball lot and hope that can drive the price up 75 or so bucks. nothing real special a couple price and bumgarner bowman rcs a grady seizmore bowman rc a bunch from 2010 bowman chrome and hundereds of random ones from all years

I would also point out that you might want to lower your expectations a bit on your expected realized price... I buy large low end game used/autograph lots all the time and rarely do I end up even paying $1 a card... the market is currently flooded with them right now....

ive been buying them quite a bit to and i generally end up paying in the .75-1 dollar a card range on ebay. if i could get around 400 for all the gu/autos which should total around 500 with the tristar stuff i would be happy

right now im just looking to sell as i need to pay off my paypal buyer credit bill and then turn it into new stuff. if interested i can get you a list of them and prices though

If they inspect your box... which in all my time selling and buying I have seen happen less than half a dozen times.... and find the cards in there with the CD, it will be sent back to you or not accepted in the first place. Besides that, priority mail packages are sorted by hand, parcel post and media are sorted by machinery which makes it more likely to incur damage....

sorry man, normally i wouldnt mind trading but i buy with my paypal buyer credit so i have to get that paid off before i do anything. it helps me keep track of my profits better because whatevers left after thats payed off is my profit.

Is there a Card Shop close by? I know my LCS was offering between $1 and $4 in store credit for unwanted game-used and autos...I took in like $800 in store credit's worth of cheap gu and autos I had been hoping to trade/sell for entirely too long.

nothing really close to me, i would sell to blowout if they were buying basketball or football and get 1.25 per. hopefully ill get around 1 dollar each on ebay. plus a little premium for all the rcs.

I have had packages sent to me on two different occasions via Media mail with baseball cards in them. Both times they were caught by the Post Master at my PO, because they know what I get and send out all the time. What they do is either charge me the additional postage, or I can refuse it and it gets sent back to the sender. They bump it up to Priority Mail rates, which is considerably more than Media Mail on a heavier box of say 2,000 or 3,000 cards.

I don't even try to send cards Media Mail, because I know it will get caught. I also don't want to run the risk of having a ticked off buyer or trading partner when they receive the package Postage Due. If anyone ever sends me a package like that again, I'll just refuse it. It's too risky when you're dealing with cards, at least to me. If the person on the receiving end deals with cards a lot, chances are the Post Master will know what they normally get and check.

Media Mail is a very limited type of mailing. You can send books, newspapers, CD's, and I think maybe movies too. But you are not even allowed to include an invoice in the package with them.

Easiest question to answer...how would you like them to be delivered to YOU if you were the buyer?

This is the SOUND advise from 12+ years of online buying and selling! Believe me, I've had 800 count lots delivered with 750 cards damaged! Very upsetting! If it's a 400/600/800 count lot, I would HIGHLY suggest - soft sleeves for all cards individually, placed in an appropriate count box, wrapped in either bubble or foam wrap, placed in the center of a medium priority boxed LINED with additional sturdy cardboard on all 4 sides and top/bottom filled in with packaging peanuts. <<< this will ensure a SAFE trip and moderate/heavy "handling".
