What was Topps thinking when they reprinted RCs of some of the HOFers/ stars that don't differentiate in look and information. To take an example, the 1969 RC of Reggie Jackson.... the reprint has no printing date to distinguish it from the original. I've heard that using a magnifier can show that the pixels are not as detailed as the original, or w/ some reprints, the paper is more white than the old cardboard used in the original. I believe many originals share this fate of reprint issues such as Don Mattingly's '84 Topps RC.
I do bring up the Reggie card because I would like to acquire one, but it is intimidating to throw out a Benny for a decent condition '69 card and not know if it is a reprint. If anyone knows other techniques for telling the difference, I would be interested. Thanks for reading, Rooster.

There are many more sites dealing with counterfeit cards, all you need to do is an internet search.

One other way is to compare a common card from the same set as the card you are looking at. Take a 1969 Topps common with you and compare, texture, color, size and look between the common and the Reggie you are looking at. Try to compare the Reggie to a card of the same condition. Buy from a reputable dealer.
