This weekend I am organizing my collection since it is raining outside.

The PC I am organizing this weekend is my dodger topps cards from 1951-2011.

How would you organize store them. I have two different ways.

1. Each card in a penny sleeve then in an album organized by years.

2. Each card in a penny sleeve, then in a top loader, then organized by years in a 5,000 count monster box(those large white cardboard boxes)

3. How would you organize them?

there are pros and cons to both ways, albums are cool to view, but storage boxes i think are better protection in a top loader than an album page. albums take up less space than the boxes, let me know what you think is the best long term way to store them or how you would store them. thanks.

I would do the albums, less space and you can look at them without digging out the giant box....................A 1979 Topps #104 Johnny Oates probably doesn't need the extra toploader protection! Just my opinion...................Mike

every time i put cards in an album they got bent...jmo

I would do the penny sleeve/albums

My son and I started doing this same thing. Its really cool looking and easy to look through. It really brings back fond memories of the older years.

i would do your less expensive cards in albums and all your special high value cards in toploaders

hey guys, thanks for your responses, you all bring up some very good points for both ways of storing.

I do like the fact that with albums, it saves space and is very cool and easy to look through all the cards. The problem i had was that the pages were turning yellow and starting to warp.

i started putting my cards in top loaders in a box and was wondering, do i really need to put a 1988 topps steve sax in a top loader? hahaha

I also noticed that I had everything filed from 1951-1988 at that point and it was taking up ALOT of space already. space where I can put more expensive cards.

I think an option would be to put them in albums by years, (which is easier to see what I have, I just have to flip to that particular year to see what I have. then put my more expensive dodger cards in top loaders, cards of koufax, drysdale, snider, campanella, etc. and maybe also maybe the 1950's (brooklyn dodgers cards)

thanks guys for your advice, i appreciate it.
