Back in 1989,I bought a couple of boxes of Topps Hockey.
Thought I'd like to build the set and did pretty well actualy.
Ended up needing only 3 or 4 of the regular cards and some
of the sticker cards.
A week or so later,I went to a local mall show, found a dealer
with hockey and picked up the remaining regulars and most
of the remaining stickers.
We started talking about cards and he said"you know the
O-***-Chee set has 330 cards in it"(topps'set 198). "I
have one here if your interested?"
I told him"if I'd had known that,I might have gone after that
and not the smaller Topps set." He explained that the first
198 cards were the same in each, then O-***-Chee includes
the lesser known players,award winners,team cards,etc.
He said"If you want,I'll sell you the additional cards at a good price."
I was reluctant to break up his set,but he said"no it's ok,really."
So thats what I did and my 1989/90 hockey set is a
"Topps/O-***-Chee."As far as I know,it's a 1 of 1!:D
Anybody else ever put together their own hybred set?

Never put a hybrid set together like that. I would consider the O-***-Chee set as incomplete and it would get to me that it isnt a complete set. I guess I would just have to work on the O-***-Chee set to finish it. :)
