So, this is an actual situation I am in. I don't know much about basebal beyond star names and what I can see in a Becket, but this is believed o all be basebal. No idea if the labeling is totally accurate.. It belonged to the brother of my dad's friend. He doesn't really trust anyone in the boonies in FLorida to come look because he doesnt want anyone to know about his big storage place. SO, to check the stuff out he's gonna ship me 10 boxes. He's got two 1982 and one 1983 Traded set (dunno if theyre totally complete but they are the factory boxes = and I'm getting those). I've offered to cover shiping on everything but he wants to just do 10 boxes right now. Doesn't really wanna get into them, so it is just a matter of me picking 10 of these and hoping for the best. Any thoughts/ opinions? He's gonna ship them this afternoon. (the blacked out stuff is of course not available)

Where does he live in Florida? If it is close enough, I could go check them out or meet up with him somewhere to look them over.

norhteast, but he ain't crazy about strangers I guess, and my dad just shipped close to half of it to me  It'll all be available and shared here since I only do football and don't have many baseball friends. :)

No worries just thought I could help save some time and $$. He probably lives too far away anyway. I'm west of Orlando.

I can mention it to my dad and see what he thinks. I have a feeling the guy has kinda just turned it over to my dad and trusts what he chooses here, AND all the other boxes I'm not getting are not labelled. so let's see what comes with this batch and see if labelling seems accurate or not and then maybe present the idea. And yeah I dunno how far you'd want to go. My dad lives near Daytona but i believe his friend's property is somehwerew around St Augustine

There's a card shop in Orlando that buys collections as well. I'm sure they would be interested in buying the collection if he wanted to bring it with him and drive to Orlando so they could look at it. I know the owner and he's definitely a trustworthy guy who would give him a fair price.

Well, with half of it on the way here already.....

Hi
If you have Beckett, enter the set in search ie 1982 Topps Traded and hit enter. The set will come up in numerical order.
Next, click on the sort by drop down menu and click on the bottom selection, Beckett High Descending!
In this case, what comes up first, is the Cal Ripken XRC AT $200, Followed by the Ozzie Smitth XRC at $40, etc.
'83 traded best cards are a Mantle Bronze and a Strawberry XRC @ $40.
BOB
