Hey, everyone! I have been on a trading sabbatical for the past few months because I'm a part-time college teacher and peons such as myself don't usually get summer classes. I've been pounding away at freelance stuff to survive, which has left no time for trading. (On the positive side, I get to pay rent!)

I plan on attending the Syracuse Chiefs/Gwinnett Braves International League game this Friday and thought I might ask your advice about getting pre-game autos. I've been to my fair share of games, but I've never done so with cards in hand. (I do feel a little silly for asking; I'm old enough that I should already know!)

First, Jose Canseco will be the guest of honor at the game and will apparently be signing during the game. I looked around online and can't tell if there will be a fee. Do players usually charge during such an appearance? He's being sponsored by a local radio station, so I imagine they are paying him for his time.

Second, I got a ticket in the sweet seats on the first-base dugout. (I'm usually a general admission guy.) I have pulled cards from the players on the Gwinnett roster (former Tiger Wilkin Ramirez, Brandon Hicks, Ruben Gotay, Dustin Richardson and more). Should I just get there as early as possible and wait by the outfield side of the dugout and wait for players to walk by? Is blue Sharpie the best option (for cards)?

I am hoping to get some good stuff for the PC and for trading. The semester is nearly here, which means I will be able to resume my usual trading fun!

Thanks for your ideas and sorry if these are questions I should already be able to answer. I usually just grab a hot dog and a beer and score the game, so this will be different.

There shouldn't be a fee for jose. They are usually free. A blue sharpie is fine for cards. Its alot of fun getting autos pregame. I have met a ton of awesome guys doing that (Jay bruce, Paul Goldschmist, Starlin Castro, just to name a few.) Have fun and good luck!

There will probably be a line for Canseco on the concourse somewhere and it will start forming as soon as gates open. You may want to get in that line early so you don't get shut out of his auto.

I normally don't get many pre game and get a lot more post game...If I was you I'd probably get in line for Canseco once you get in there and get him and then try to get as many as you can after the game as long as you know where the players come out to get to their cars/the bus. Thats just my opinion, but you can do what you want and best of luck to you!

I get all of mine pregame on the third base line (at the 3 stadiums I've ever been to). Players and Managers alike seem more willing to stop pregame when everyone is relaxed.
