Hello,

I know that several traders here also trade over at Sportscardfun.com. I haven't been able to access the site all week. Is anyone else having this problem?

Thanks,
Melissa

I don't know if it is "shut down" for good but as a member their for 6 years I know it was going through a lot of problems most recently with the Owner trying to sell the site. Someone I know that trades there emailed me directly and said that the site was sold but never really maintained. The moderator/Owner for the site had not been heard from for a very long time.

I'm not trying to stir the pot on this one just trying to add some context to it.

This is all bad news. I had my entire George Brett collection listed on there. Just wish that we would have been given us a heads up before they shut it down or whatever it is they did.

Thanks for the insight everyone,
Melissa

I know CommonsKing over there warned everybody at the beginning of the summer but at that time it was thought that the site was shutting down on June 30th (or something close to that, don't remember exactly), apparently the warning was valid but the date was 3 months later...there may have been a grace period if the true shut down date was June 30th. I migrated all of the data to Google about 2 years ago due to the "writing on the wall".

Hey guys,

I, too, am sad to see that SportsCardFun has gone offline (I was "Red Sox Prospector" over there). It was the first site I traded on (in 2010, I think) and I have stayed somewhat active over there ever since. It was a good community of traders.

I will also need to find a new place to keep my trade list, and would love to hear any suggestions (fortunately, I have the list as a Word document).

It occurred to me that, because we communicated via email over at SCF, we each have the email addresses of many, many folks that we traded with. Maybe we should each dig out the email addresses of the last 10-20 folks we've traded with over there... and shoot them a note encouraging them to join The Bench, if they haven't already.

Best regards,
Trevor

There is 3 messages that were just posted today 3 & 3:45. Not sure if that's legit or what as I am not a member there but it looks to be active to me.

I was just able to login to get to my wantlist that is kept there and it worked. Definitely making sure my back up is current though. Hopefully it was just a server issue of some kind

You're right, it looks like it is back up with 5 days missing. Definitely back up or just plain move everything from there. I can remember when there used to be 15 pages of current posts, now there are 4.

Thanks Guys and Gals, my George Brett havelist and current set wantlists are safely copied and saved to a word document until I figure out what I want to do with it.

The thought of having to recreate it just about put me over the edge.

Hope they can figure out what is going on over there. In the meantime, I see several new traders here from over there. That's a good thing for us.

Take Care and Thanks Again,
Melissa
