A padded envelope from Japan arrived today...




These cards are from Sega Card Gen, part of an arcade game in Japan. There has been an annual set of about 400 US players each year since 2010.

Those are very cool, are they oversized or 2.5x3.5 like we are used to?

Can you imagine having to play an arcade game enough times to complete the set? Fortunately, some stores sell singles over there, and there have even been whole boxes of the unopened packs (intended for the arcade machine) hit the auction sites. It's a pity the arcade scene in America is dead. Would have been nice to see the game over here.

Actually the cards are standard sized. Trading Card Database has checklists. The price was real reasonable, $6.50 each plus shipping for the Jeters. Great set.

One night I'll scan my McDonald's Taiwan Chien Ming-**** cards.
