Hey Everyone -

I read a lot of Comic Books, mostly from the 1970s to the early 2000s. There are always sports cards ads or other miscellaneous sports ads that I see. I figured I'd take pics of them and pass them along to our community either for nostalgia sake or to spark discussion. I'll add more as I find more.

Here's the first batch! Enjoy!

Scott,
What's your favorite comics?

I love Claremont & Byrne X-Men, Miller's Daredevil, Layton's run on Iron Man, Simonson's run on Thor and I also have a soft-spot for 90s Valiant like Bloodshot and X-O Manowar... but, #1 is Larry Hama's G.I. Joe!

Currently, on my pull-list on my local comic shop: Ghost Rider, Punisher, Amazing Spider-Man, Spawn, King Spawn, Scorched, Gunslinger Spawn, Bloodshot & any 'Red Room' stuff that comes out from Ed Piskor

@K.C._Royals!

Quinton -

Mainly Marvel Comics from the 1980s and 1990s. I am trying to complete runs of Avengers, Captain America, Iron Man, Punisher, Thor, What If, Uncanny X-Men, and X-Men. I collected from the late 80s to the late 90s and then didn't pick it up again until a few years ago.

I don't buy new comics (except for the occasional Walmart packs), but instead I root through cheap bins and buy random lots! So I'll read anything. I also love going to Ollies and buying cheap graphic novels and mystery comic bags.

My main love was always Iron Man - good old 1980s and 1990s Iron Man is what got me into comics.

I don't have them handy, but Hostess advertised their snack cake box bottom cards in the 70s in comics quite a bit.

Sports magazines have some cool ads in that same era as well. They make for unique additions to any collection.

I try to get any of the Pepsi club ads I can find that were in newspapers. This was the club that the Dodgers (and other teams) offered each year to kids where you could get a handful of game tickets, some sort of patch/ID card and maybe a shirt, sweatbands, cap or equipment bag as well for only a couple bucks. I was a member of the Mariners club for a couple years myself.

I have some good'ns from magazines (not comics though) that I kept. Just scanned 'em.
