I was going through some cards I had not yet gone through and came across a 1994 Brainerd Bears set, a former local pro baseball team. I looked them up and was surprised to find out that two of them were MLB players, Darrell Brown and Bryan Clutterbuck. They were not that great and only lasted a couple of years but still kind of cool to find. They did happen to have a few cards produced of them in their short stints. One of the Clutterbuck cards and the team card are signed by Mr. Clutterbuck. I do have an extra of Darrell Brown. Here's a pic and links.

Cool find. I think Clutterbuck was on a 1987 Topps Brewers card. Can't forget a name like that.:)

Any chance you have the whole set? Or is there a checklist on the back of the team photo card? That set doesn't appear in either Beckett's listings or the 2000 Standard Catalog of Minor League Baseball cards.

It is a local pro baseball team, basically like a Northwoods League team so they will not be listed in Beckett. One cool thing is that most of these cards probably have not left Brainerd so I guess if there are any Bryan Clutterbuck collectors out there, these might be desirable. :)

Is the Darrell Brown as in "Downtown" Darell Brown that lost his centerfield starting job to one Kirby Puckett in 1984?

I thought the Northwoods League was a collegiate summer league, was Clutterbuck a coach?

Yeah, I take it he is. He only played a few years and looks like dropped off the face of the planet when Puckett came to town but I guess we know where he was in 1994!

No, he wasn't the coach. North Central League is what they call it. Its a summer league for guys anywhere in their 20s and 30s, basically.
