He doubled home Pat Scanlon to make it 3-1 (note he's on 2nd base, score posted in the distant background).... so since I knew the specifics of the shot, I figured a "newspaper" look might be cool, and that '76 Topps Traded look and feel fit perfectly.... plus it was perfect as he was an Expo for '75 and '76 (mostly in their minor league systems, but an Expo nonetheless)

wow soo cool. that has to be so awesome to have a player actually send back a note with the signed card requesting more!!!!! i wonder what he might do with them...??? maybe instead of signing he will sign those and put them in the sases what do u think he will do with them? keep em?

How long did it take you make the custom? How did you get it to look so close to the Topps design?

well it's very cool and after finding out that was his only RBI as not only an Expo, but as a MLB player.... i am not surprised at all that he would want many copies of this particular custom!!
also just curious if you ever got a hold of Dave Wainhouse? he is the one that played for montreal and is now an assistant coach at Seattle University?

I don't blame him, I would want some of those also! You did a spectacular job, congrats.
I scanned a Topps Traded card, then traced the outline of the graphics on a new level in photoshop, they are simple shapes so it was fairly easy. I matched the fonts as best I could when typing in my own info and popped in my image.
I maybe spent a few hours on it, a good part of an afternoon... the original photo was black and white so some of that time was for adding color to the photo.
I actually wanted to wait until I had a card of his in hand before contacting him, didn't want to contact him and only have my card show up months later..... but I did get one recently so I'll try to get in touch.... thanks again for that info.
