There's a famous Pete Weber and a Dick Weber. I've met Earl Anthony, a 6 time winner of the bowler of the year professionally, and considered the greatest bowler of all time, when he came to the Crow Canyon Country Club where I worked, he owned the bowling alley in neighboring Danville, CA where I went to high school.

Brett, What set are these? Bowling is big in Erie, we had Bob Learn Jr. win the big tourney ( I think it was the US Open) here in his hometown several years ago, and he bowled a 300 game doing it. Also had Ron Palombi Jr. who had some great years on the tour. I have some set from years ago but I cant remember the name of the set. Anyhow, if you get extras of those guys or Mike Machuga I would be interested in those to give to some of the guys around here who love bowling if they are in the sets. Thanks Pat

Scan them up! I would like to see the auto's. :)

Will do!

So you will be getting 64 auto and theres a total of 77 auto in the set. Would love to see you pulled the Earl auto! Best regards, David

Unfortunately no Earl auto in this stuff but he's one I'd love to get my hands on.

Pat - Rittenhouse Archives made this set in 2008 and at the time I bought it last night, there still was 1 case available at the same price and for the price you really can't beat it. I went through a small stack of cards from a box of these I purchased a couple years ago and I did pull a Machuga base so I'll set that aside for ya but dunno if Palombi and Learn have cards in this set. I remember bowling against Erie in college and know a couple people locally who've bowled for them.

I would love to see the autos when they come in!! :) Definitely post!!!

I'll post pics when they come in.

The great Roy Munson before his epic injury. :)

Ha! A piece of his prosthetic hand on a card would be awesome.

Game-used bowling ball cards! And if you get one without the relic piece in it, that's just the ultra-rare HOLE SWATCH. 1/1 $$$

Your forgetting about the game-worn Bowling Shirts inserts, the Piece of the Lane inserts and the genuine lane oil swatch cards. Series two will have the red-blue-green bowling shoe game-worn cards, LOL.

I would like to see them as well. Curious on the listing though??

Factory sealed 8-box case PBA trading cards
Rittenhouse 65 autographs per case

I have many of these autos available in my scans....lotta fun poking at these cards but some of these guys were better trained athletes than you find today...especially the discipline it takes.

lift a 16 lb ball an average of about 15-20 times per game, x 3 games, x 3 sets each day.

walk approx 15 feet x2 each time you roll the ball.

add that all up and ya, i'd consider that an athlete.

i bowled for quite a while, from high school til my hip gave out about 10 years ago. i wasn't bad, 186 avg.

i was the first one in my family to roll a 700 series, but i never rolled a 300. was close a couple times, with 10 strikes in a row a couple times.

my brother, now he could be a pro bowler if he wasn't an alcoholic. he has rolled i think 6- 300 games, about 4- 800 series', and has carried a 200+ avg for over 10 years.

we have a pete weber and tons of other pba members come to the illinois valley for the mid region tournement at the "super bowl" in peru. every august they show up. weber won again this past year, i think the 4th or 5th time he's won.

i would love to see all that you pull from this case brett. definately!

oh, also, my brother and i, back in 1987, bowled in the brothers tournement in peoria. it was so long ago i don't even remember exactly, but i think we placed 11th (maybe a bit lower, like 15th) out of approx. 1300 teams i believe.

thanx, and i think you got a steal at about $26 per box!!

I see you've picked up some of the TK Legacy mini boxes as well. How many of them did you crack to get the ones you have? I see lots of those on eBay too and that may not be a bad buy either since Bo Burton's in there. Too bad Chris Schenkel passed away before the cards were made. Would have made for a sweet dual auto.

Very nice Paul. I haven't bowled in a couple years but my oldest brother Paul rolled an 822 series in 1983 (back when it was an accomplishment lol)and has a 300 game and along with my other brother Matt have tons of 700s to their credit. As for me,I've had 2 290 games and my high series is 755. I've kinda fell out of love with bowling for the time being but I'm still a big fan of the sport.

I've met a few bowlers over the years like Pete Weber,Marshall Holman,Dick Ritger and Walter Ray Williams. Had a chance to meet Kelly Kulick last summer but I couldn't make it. One of her coaches when she was younger was my high school bowling coach. He was a former coach at the Dick Ritger Academy and she coaches there now and they keep in contact so I hope the opportunity will show up again.

Thanks and I'll make it a point to scan my goodies when they come in.

Brett

P.S. Ken - Will do ;)

i was driving back to pennsylvania with my daughters when they were younger. we stopped in the morning for breakfast at one of the plazas, ohio i think. a guy was standing by himself waiting for his order, and i told the girls it sure looked like mark roth (i had to explain who he was, lol). i said i was gonna go introduce myself and shake his hand, lol. they thought i was crazy and said they were embarrassed, ahahah.

so i went up to him and he was very nice. he had just had a tournament and was on his way to whereever. wish i had had something to get his auto, but no. great guy tho, very nice.

bowled in a pro am out in wilkes-barre one year and finished 6th place. my senior pro partners were bud peebles, don't remember middle guy, and gene stus, i beat the first two guys with my handycap and almost beat mr. stus. great time with that tourney also.

i love bowling, and wish i could still go at it, but we all get old and are parts stop workin, lol

Great story and Mark Roth is my brother Paul's idol and emulated his bowling style too. He'd be embarassed to meet him as well. We were in Coopstown 5 years ago for the Hall of Fame game and saw Paul Blair signing autographs (former Yankees/Orioles Gold Glove outfielder). I told him we should go meet his namesake but he was too embarassed to do it lol.

Hopefully I'll pull an extra Roth auto so I can give one to him as I already have one for myself.

I love the Bowling cards. Got a few Sports Legends cards and autos of Weber,Bohn,Barnes,Duke,Roth,Salvino, and Mika.
I averaged 190+ in the 60's and have dropped to that again while in my 60's.
It would be nice to see scans of all the autos that you pull.
