Well assuming everyone knows about the 4 different variations of Moments and Milestones... you all know it's very frustrating and can get extremely expensive. For the 2008 set for Sheffield there are:
480 White Home Run Cards /150
480 Black Home Run Cards /25
480 Blue Home Run Cards /10
480 Red Home Run Cards /1
Now all sets are difficult as everyone knows, white because pretty expensive and so on the further down the variation list you go. With my knowledge of completing 1 full White set with 475/480 cards of another set, 3/4 of a black set, and almost half of a blue set... these are my pros and cons as a player collector and a collector in general that I have procured.
*Keep in mind that each player you collect doesn't always have 480 cards in the set nor could it be close to that at all.
Pros:
-Cards look very nice when completed, many collectors understand the hardship of trying to find particular cards and if no one has it for sale then you almost want to just go break open a box to find it! Even though that would be a terrible solution
-Putting together one of these sets let alone multiple is nearly impossible depending on what variation you're going for. White is possible most of the time, black is very difficult, blue is near impossible considering the /10 print run, and red is out of the question since their all 1/1's. However once you complete one of the sets or are close to completing it it feels great considering how tough these are in fact to put together.
-Taking on the task of one of these sets is enduring but hey it gives you something to do as a collector. If you have your collection organized and are just picking up new things here and there and not doing much lately with your collection then why not start a nice m & m set?

-Time and patience. For two years I've needed #455 (white variation) of the Sheffield Home run moment and milestone. The card isn't too scarce because its print run is 150 but for some reason I cannot find another after I've completed my first set. This is what I mean by time and patience. After putting together all the work for the majority of the set I just basically need that card. I need about 10 other cards for the set but I can purchase all of those once I get #455. You need to have patience or you'll have nothing! P.S see #455 and shoot me a pm!
-Money. I've spent hundreds on this set. The first set that was put together mainly by my father before he passed cost hundreds to complete. After his passing I purchased many many of the black versions to try to do that set, and tried to put together my own white variation as well to maybe try to resell. One Sheffield 1/1 red moment goes for around 6 bucks plus shipping. You'll never complete this variation so it's not really worth shelling any money into no matter who you collect. Their neat to get but not worth the money. Try a white set, then go for black. Pick up the others as you go for cheap is the best advice I can give!
Conclusion: I really just wanted to share my thoughts on the set and really had nothing better to do. Just to give a little insights on what I was thinking today Many of you will be like wow we all already knew this for years, while others may be interested. I have no idea, but thanks for the read!
