I read through a few baseball card blogs every day or so and got "inspired" to try my hand at it. Gonna have to do something with my time now that I just got out of school for winter break. :)

Here's the link:

This is my first blog, so any opinions or comments would help me out! Or any requests for something you might want to see on my blog would be great as well!

Thanks!

Awesome blog, man! Can't wait to read more! Now I know the history behind your name!! (wish mine were from baseball!!)

Tim

Thanks Tim! I thought you'd like it since we share a lot of the same collecting techniques. :)

My user name is actually a bit out of date. My 1955 Bowman Hoyt Wilhelm was the oldest card I had of him when I signed up for The Bench, hence the "Hoyt55" moniker. I got the '53 that's pictured on there after I signed up, so maybe I should be "Hoyt53".

Thanks, I appreciate it!

New post is up. Please don't hesitate to request a post about your favorite team! I'd be happy to show a few of my favorites from the favorite teams of fellow Benchies! :)

Well, not sure if I'll feature any Biggios as I don't really collect him, but I can think of one that I could probably show, but I'll save the surprise for the blog post. :)

Yup, thanks again! Now it's on the web. :)

I'll have yours in the mail tomorrow or Saturday, by the way.

Slow down is my suggestion. I started a blog myself and thought I would try to make an entry per day. Sometimes I had a 2nd idea and went with it. However, it was not too long before I found myself either strapped for time or ideas, or just a lack of interest in scanning or writing.

I enjoy catching a few blogs now and again, but even my love of reading them has cooled off.

Good luck with it and have fun.

Yup, I just realized that I should probably only post a couple per day. I had the last few cards for my post out anyways so I figured I'd just post those before I forgot.

Taking suggestions for tomorrow's team suggestions or just baseball card topics in general!

Agreed, by all means, when the mood strikes you go ahead and write them, but just keep them as drafts. Your individual posts will get more views if they're able to sit out there for about a day before posting the next one. Eventually you'll probably be picked up on the sports card blog roll, and a post a day will keep your blog's name in the recently updated list. It will also leave you with something to release in the wild when the ideas start to slow down.

Also, don't be afraid to tweak some of your older posts if you think of something to make them better. Most of the traffic I get is to the post I wrote about porcelain baseball cards, and I wrote that almost a year ago.
