Went to Nashville during spring break last week to watch the Memphis Redbirds vs the Sounds on Thursday and Friday night. Was hoping to get Oscar Taveras, but he did not sign at all during the 2 games I was there. Did have some luck with another big name, Stephen Piscotty. Here is my haul:

Piscotty 2013 Topps Heritage Minors

My kids ended up with 4 balls. My daughter got a brand new ball from the Redbirds first base that she had Lyons sign. My son got a game used ball signed by Heath Wyatt and Greg Garcia. Garcia has to be the nicest player we have ever met. Last year he signed my son's cap when we were in Memphis. Before Thursday's game, he calls Garcia by his first name. Garcia comes over, asks his name and signs the card for us. Later in the game he catches the 3rd out of the inning and comes straight to Alex and gives him the ball. The next night we are sitting in the same seats along the first base line. Garcia sees Alex, comes over and signs the ball he gave him. Wish I had remembered to take a pic of them together.

I missed Lyons on Thursday night, but was lucky to see him in the stands with Cooney charting pitches on Friday night. My daughter and I waited in between innings to have them sign, both were surprised we recognized them. They were also very nice. Had a lot of fun even though the stadium is run down. This is the last year they are playing in it. If anyone need a program with Jimmy Nelson on the cover, or a team wall calendar we have 3 or 4 of each.

He is not. Had a chance to make it going into spring training, but had an ankle injury that limited his playing time. He should be up in the majors sometime this year.

Congrats, my cousin Jamie Werly still holds a number of Nashville Sounds records from the early 80s when he pitched on the same team with Willie McGee and Don Mattingly. Cool haul, glad you got to make it to the game!

I made it to the Redbirds/Sounds game as well. Got Boone Whiting IP autographs (2013 Bowman and 2013 Bowman Chrome). Super nice! I also talked to Taveras in the dugout and he promised to sign by the dugout after the game. Since me and my brother have to be up at 4 in the a.m. for work, we could not stay to see if he signed. Planning to see them again on their next trip to Nashville, but wondering now if Taveras might get called up!

So surprised at how few autograph seekers are at the Sounds games! The Redbirds brought a handful out, but usually there are just a couple:) Would have taken Taveras less than 5 minutes to get everyone signed when I was there.

Taveras did not sign at all on Thursday or Friday. I have seat in the front row about 5 seats from the Redbirds dugout. Whiting is very nice, got him last year in Memphis. It did seem there were more people graphing on Friday night, almost all doing the Redbirds.
