Did Topps put out 2 different Bowman Chrome Prospect sets this year with the same numbering?!?! REALLY?? Great, another year of trading for the wrong cards again since there are now two different Chrome BCP sets for 2014. Are they really that stupid or do they just not care about the collectors any more? This crazy numbering thing is what made me stop putting together Bowman sets a few years ago. Bowman used to have a standard numbering system, but for the last few years they just do whatever. Next year I think every set, regular, prospects, draft, and draft picks should all be numbered the same. In fact, let's just pick a number and just use that for all the cards.
I'd go with 7

Something else I just realized with the new Bowman chrome, there are now 22 different parallels of each card (23 if it's an error card). There are 4 different printing plates, a superfractor and 17 different refractor parallels. Is it just me or is this just completely insane. I gotta stop trying to collect all this crap.

Can someone help a stupid Phillies fan - how are these two BCP sets different??

Thanks!

Don’t in the slightest consider yourself stupid when it’s Bowman that actually should be credited with that title. In the 2014 Bowman packs released earlier this year you have these Phillie cards:
2014 Bowman Chrome Prospects #BCP37 Maikel Franco
2014 Bowman Chrome Prospects #BCP80 Austin Wright
2014 Bowman Chrome Prospects #BCP99 Kenny Giles
2014 Bowman Chrome Prospects #BCP105 Miguel Alfredo Gonzalez
And because of Bowman’s infinite stupidity in the 2014 Bowman Chrome pack just released you now have these Phillies:
2014 Bowman Chrome Prospects Series 2 #BCP14 Kelly Dugan
2014 Bowman Chrome Prospects Series 2 #BCP86 Cam Perkins
2014 Bowman Chrome Prospects Series 2 #BCP87 Jose Pujols
2014 Bowman Chrome Prospects Series 2 #BCP99 Wilmer Oberto
One good thing about you Phillies cards is – no matter what BCP99 card you get, your OK because it will still be a Phillies card. But many others will be pissed getting the wrong cards for the #’s they are looking for. It’s just another bump in the road for a long line of Bowman’s stupid card numbering.

So the only way to tell the different is the design on the front of the card? Best regards, David

All the Bowman variants are ridiculous. And aside from the 5-10 big prospects in a given year, totally worthless. Most of these guys never get above AA.
