Hey guys,
On the eve of his 3rd Opening Day start flex and hopefully the precursor to many more in a Sox uniform, I wanted to show you guys the collection I’ve accumulated of Chris Sale. He’s one of the first guys that I remember seeing from the start of his career to the present. (I’m pretty young, but I remember watching the draft on MLB Network in 2010 the day that the Sox drafted him when I was like 11 years old), and I’ve watched pretty much every game he’s ever pitched in with the Sox. I’ve always liked his game and his bulldog attitude on the mound, but I didn’t seriously collect him until June or July of last year. After that 8 start streak of 10 or more K’s, I knew that he was special...maybe he could turn out to be one of the best pitchers in the history of the White Sox at some point (but I’d settle for a Cy Young and a playoff berth this year ). Regardless, I enjoy collecting him a lot because his cards are dirt cheap and he’s a class act off of the field.
Anyways, here are the goods. I tried to go in sequential order from oldest to newest, but there might be a few scattered ones out of order.

I also wanted to show off the Sale autographed baseball that I have. I got this signed in September of 2013 at Jim & Steve’s Card Shop in Waukegan, IL. He was really nice and down to Earth when I met him. At that point, he was still an unknown for the most part (as he had only been a starting pitcher for 2 years), but the lines were out the door as us Sox fans are passionate about our players. That’s me in the picture as well, but I look older now since the picture was taken in 2013 like I mentioned earlier.
Next up, I wanted to show off the autographed jersey I won for free in a Twitter giveaway a few months ago. Framing it cost me a pretty penny, but it was well worth the price IMO. !
and here it is framed. I think it looks great.
Lastly, I wanted to show off the most sentimental pieces in my collection, the beautiful works of art that my sister has drawn for me over the past few months.
These are absolutely incredible in person; the scans don’t do them justice. It means a lot to me that my sister would take so much time to draw these just for me. We’re hoping to get Chris to sign them at some point, maybe at SoxFest or at a game sometime.
Anyways, thanks for taking a look at my stash. Feel free to comment (I enjoy reading them) and keep an eye out for my Carlos Rodon collection thread that I’ll post in a few days.
Thank you all for the read.
