Very nice collection. I just did a scan of my duplicate IP autographs and I can help you with Jake Peavy and Steve Sparks, who both are listed with Mobile connections. Let me know if interested.

I was wondering if you could help me get an auto or two of Matt Davidson on my 2011 Topps Heritage TINT parallel and a Pro Debut single. I would send the cards to you.

I was successful with Jay Bell a number of times in the 90s when Three Rivers Stadium was home of the Pirates. Now with the new stadiums, it's harder to get access to the players.

Congrats on the collection and hits thus far.
Regards,

Michael

Michael,
I would be interested in Peavy and Sparks. What would you want for them? And yes, If you would like to send me a couple of cards for your sets, I will do my best to get them signed by Davidson for you. Just PM me and we'll work out the details.

Picked up a couple of pieces recently on Ebay to add to my collection.

Eddie Stanky(The Brat) played for 5 different teams during the 40's and 50's. He then managed the Cardinals and White Sox. He became the head coach at South Alabama in 1969 and basically built the program. He took the Rangers' manager job in the middle of the 1977 season and managed for just one game. He decided to return to South Alabama. He lived here until he passed away in 1999. This piece came with PSA COA.

George "Shotgun" Shuba played for the Mobile Bears for parts of 5 seasons. He played parts of 7 seasons for the Brooklyn Dodgers.

Jake Peavy was born in Mobile and played for the BayBears before he was promoted to the Padres. I received this in a trade from tribefan. Thanks again Michael.

Tommy Davis was born in Mobile and was drafted by the Orioles in the 2nd round in 1994. He played in 5 games for the Orioles in 1999. I sent this out several months ago and just recently received it back.

Cleon Jones was born in Mobile and played for the Mets in the 60's and 70's. He caught Davey Johnson's fly ball for the final out in the 1969 World Series. Sent out a TTM a while back with no response. Found this 2012 Archives Fan Favorite Auto for cheap so I picked it up.

I sent 2 card to former BayBear Adam Eaton via the Reno Aces about 3 weeks ago. I received them back this week. He must have sent them out right before he got called up. I sent a Heritage and a Pro Debut. The Pro Debut came back so smeared that it was unreadable. The Heritage looks nice though!

I got this card of former BayBear Barry Enright recently via a trade from another member.

Kentrail Davis was born in Mobile. He was drafted by the Rockies out of high school, but chose to go to the University of Tennessee. He was drafted in the 1st round by the Brewers in 2009. I tried to get this IP, but both times I tried to go to a game when Huntsville was here, the games were rained out. I sent this to the team address in Huntsville on 8/16 and received it back today postmarked from Mobile!

Been busy and haven't had time to post lately, but I've added a few more.

Drungo Hazewood was born in Mobile and was the 1st round draft pick of the Orioles in 1977. He played in only 6 games for the Orioles in 1980. Got this signed through a signing with Chris Potter Sports.

Don Dillard played for the Mobile Bears in 1957 & 1958. He played 6 seasons in the Majors for Cleveland and the Milwaukee Braves. Received this through his home address from database.

Don Demeter played for the Mobile Bears in 1955. He played 11 seasons in the majors. I received this through his home address from the database.

Bart Johnson played for the Mobile White Sox in 1970. He played 8 seasons for the Chicago White Sox. I received this through his home address from the database.

Humberto Quintero played for the Bay Bears in 2002 & 2003. He has played parts of the last 10 seasons in the majors for the Padres, Astros, and Royals. I sent this to the Astros Spring Training and received it back shortly after the season ended.

Been trying to get back into this a bit more. Here are my recent additions:

Bill Edgerton played for the Mobile A's in 1966. He played a couple of seasons with the Kansas City A's and a season with the Seattle Pilots. He lives in Foley, AL which is very close to Mobile. I sent this custom card to his home address and got it back in 4 days. Signature is a bit smeared.
The Dodgers postcards I purchased from a member on SCN.
Clyde King played for the Mobile Bears in 1946. He played parts of 10 seasons for the Dodgers from 1944-1953. He also managed for the Giants, Braves, and Yankees. He passed away in 2010.
Cal Abrams played for the Mobile Bears in 1947 & 1948. He played parts of 8 seasons in the majors for 5 different teams. He passed away in 1997.

Jake Striker played for the Mobile Bears in 1955 and in 1958. He played for the Indians in 1959 and the White Sox in 1960. I sent a card to his home address on 1/25/13 and received it back on 2/1/13. He wrote a very nice letter about his memories of Mobile and also added a reprint of his 1959 Topps card which he signed. He even put the cards in penny sleeves.

Today brought Jim Derrington. He played for the Mobile Bears in 1961. He was the youngest pitcher to ever start a game in 1956 at the age of 16 when he started the last game of the season for the White Sox. He also played for the SOx in 1957. He signed my card and sent a sheet telling about the game in 1956 along with the boxscore. He also signed this. Sent this out on 1/25/13.

Awesome stuff! Looks like the White Sox like to draft or trade for players with Mobile connections judging by a lot of White Sox cards! Thanks for posting, fun to see the collection progress!
