Hey all,

After looking through our site, I noticed something.

Some cards I listed like this:

Houston Astros-2007 Bowman Chrome ReFractor Mark McLemore Rookie Card #BDP39

and some like this:

Houston Astros-2007 Bowman Chrome Mark McLemore ReFractor Rookie Card #BDP39

I guess it doesnt make a difference, but I am asking collectors which way they prefer it to be listed

PLMK. Thanks.

This would be the closest however it should be listed as bowman chrome Draft and it is not a Rookie card because only base cards are considered RC's

I myself am not that picky but if you are selling online (or in a store) your statement is not correct so it could be construed as false advertising. I help a friend out at a B/M card store sometimes and you wouldn't believe how some of the people will over react on some little things.

If it has the RC Logo thing, isnt it a RC then?

No, The RC logo is included on Parallels but the Parallel cards are not considered "True RCs"

Here is an example(per Beckett.com card listings):

Base card:
2007 Topps Allen and Ginter #274 Tim Lincecum RC
RC - $8.00

2007 Topps Allen and Ginter Mini #274 Tim Lincecum - $12.00

Note the Mini parallel version does not have RC within the card description, nor does it have the RC logo shown as a card attribute

Even if you don't want to buy beckett OPG you can still use it for checklists, RC's and Print Runs to be able to name the cards correctly. I honestly suggest you look at it.

Not trying to pick on you just sending hopefully constructive criticism

List it however YOU like it. I am working on creating a main database of Brewer cards and I will always tweak it to make it look like I want. Aside from The Bench few people will see it and even fewer will care how they are listed. It is basically for me to keep track of my collection and insurance purposes if the worst would happen.

Your listing has all the important info, most collectors can work around the wording.

Take care,

Frank

Most people don't spell out that it is a Rookie Card. They just use RC. But to add my own question here, sometimes I see RC and sometimes (RC). I think there is a difference , but I'm not sure what it is. Can someone explain.

I agree, I don't think it makes much difference in cases like that. I can browse either way. The one thing I would suggest is just be consistent. I can figure out where to look for the info I need by scanning the first few entries, but if you switch from one way to the other it does slow it down a bit.

Well, as an online card shop, we would like to have alot of imput from collectors. That way, they can feel like they helped us and its sorta "thier" shop too :)

RC=true rookie card
(RC)=means they have had prior cards issued in previous years. This came about when they changed the whole rookie card thing in 2006.

For example(taken straight from Beckett)

2002 Bowman Chrome Draft #44 Joey Votto RC
2008 Bowman Chrome #194 Joey Votto (RC)

To be in line with card collectors, would it be better to put

RC (RC) or Rookie Card?
