i dont buy packs anymore because you spend $70-80 for a box, MAYBE get an auto of a single A player that will never make it to the big leagues or a GU card, then your left with a box full of commons that most people dont want (unless your building a set) i believe buying a box of cards is like gambling in vegas, you get teased every now and then with a little "win" just enough to keep you going, but in the end, you put waaaayyy more into it than what you get out. id rather go to ebay and spend a few bucks on the EXACT card i need or want, versus spending a ton on a box any maybe not even get the card i need or want! just my 2 cents worth.

You know you are exactly right. I tell my dad all the time Im done buying boxes and I will go several months without buying any. Then all of the sudden I visit the LCS and WHAM!! I buy usually a couple boxes. Some hits are okay but others its like why did I do that I should have went on ebay and got more for my buck. Oh well guess Im glad dont live in Vegas cuz i would be poor LOL

yes, I learned the hard way, i bought EVERYTHING I saw before realizing i have tons of 5,000 count boxes full of commons that i cant even get rid of for FREE! the biggest auto i ever got was i think a phil hughes auto and the biggest gu i ever got was i think a mike marshall (dodgers pitcher) so now i acquire 90% of my collection via ebay. ebay is awesome because i can get the card i want without having tons of commons to worry about storing and taking up room. also, now is an AMAZING time to buy on ebay because of the economy being so ******, it is definitely a buyers market as im picking up some pc items for some really great prices.

There is an intire web site dedicated to helping them find cards. Get this I did some cheking into it and it cost $5. a month to join to learn how to steal from kids. I talked to my local hobby shop guy about it and he went undercover for 3 months on there to find out all about it to stop it from happening in his shop. He has compiled a bunch of real names on a list, and found that most of them belong to sites like these also. including this site. He also said a few of them are hobby shop owners who sell box's on ebay and weigh them so they get the book card, printing plates, all the good stuff, and then sell the rest of them on ebay.
It is very sad really. Most of them use a scale for autos and jersey cards. He explained to me that people are wong about what is in retail. He has seen a ton of high dollar cards on that site from retail. Sad thing is they are all gone so we just waste our money to try in retail. The kids will never get a thing out of retail, so why collect, when they can not afford a $200 hobby box.
I will ask him for a copy of the names and post it here so you will know if you tradeing with one of these scums, trying to pretend on here.
