...and the card came in a PWE, no toploader. It wasn't damaged, but paying $2.25 for shipping and the seller slapping a stamp on an envelope is overcharging if you ask me. Am I wrong to ding DSR on shipping?

no toploader?! no, I think you're within rights.

I had one a while back with a toploader, but untaped, so it had slid out the top and earned a crease.

No you got what you bought and it arrived ok.

People complain whether the packaging is good enough not even when it comes to the price. I always ship my items on ebay for $3.00 since the postage is always $1.95 and then .85 cents for DC which comes to $2.80 and with the extra 20 cents I use a penny sleeve, top loader, and team bag. Some times I forgot to put DC and people say I charged too much. I don't know what you mean by DSR but judging by the outrageous price for shipping then I would say yes since he made $1.80 which is 4 times the amount he payed to ship the card.

As long as there was no note or mention of a PWE in the auction I think a ding is necessary.

I tried doing that once and it had a lot of printers listed but nothing matches mine so I was just so confused and lost and gave up.

Ahhh, I started using a thermal printer that is not listed. However, a similar model is on there that works perfectly. Had to google my printer name and paypal and found a helpful article.

He may have got what he bought but paying $2.25 for shipping and he receives it in a PWE and no top loader is ridiculus. I highly doubt that the shipping was listed as I will send in a PWE and no top loader.

I agree, the seller should get a ding on shipping!

I'd talk to the seller before I did anything. Politely let him know your thoughts. Maybe they'll work with you. The ding first, communicate later (if at all) mentality has hurt sites like ebay. Not everyone expects the same things. Personally, if a card gets to me undamaged at the price I agreed to pay, I don't really care how they shipped it. The seller is trying to maximize profits, no different than people who sell here instead of ebay or COMC to save the fees.

Thanks for the input guys. Like some mentioned above, if PWE was noted in the auction then it is on me if I agree to pay $2.25 for shipping. Also, when I bid on an auction that has free shipping, I go in expecting a PWE. Since neither of those instances was the case in this auction, I feel that a low DSR score is necessary. I went back and looked and the seller has a 4.2 score in the Shipping Charges DSR, so this is probably a common practice that they use.

Wow... I completely disagree! I would leave negative feedback THEN tell him to change his shipping methods. I had a similar situation once where the seller put an auto card in a manilla envelope with a *** of tissue paper, the card was destroyed by the time it got to me.

Common sense is the problem with these sellers.

I would contact him and ask him to refund you the difference or threaten him with a negative. He's going to keep doing it until someone speaks up and does something about it.

I would ask him for a refund....but I would not threaten him with a negative.....He can turn around use the email against u by reporting it to ebay. Best regards, David
