Ok guys, I have one for you.

I came home tonight and find an email saying I have a New Significantly Not as Described Dispute for an item I sold. I was kind of bummed because if it were me, I would try to settle with the seller without going through all the eBay/PayPal red tape. The buyer is saying the card was not in mint condition, and I am totally fine giving him a full refund if he ships the card back to me.

Now, of course when the dispute went through, they took the money out of my account to hold it. And what he asked for, the sly dog, was a partial refund (80% of the sales price) AND he would keep the card. I responded back saying no, I will give a full refund once the card is shipped back to me. So my question is, do I have to do anything else at this point? The money is still gone from my account, but if he does not escalate it to a dispute, will the money go back into my account at some point? And if he does elevate it to a dispute, can't I just say send the card back and I will give you a full refund?

Any advice/information anyone has about things like this would be much appreciated. Thanks,

Jack

If it is escalated to a full dispute the buyer must send the card back in its original condition the buyer is responsible for all postage once you receive
the item back and its in the condition you expect it then there is a prompt on the dispute page saying you received item then the money is deposited
back into his account

The buyer has 30 days to escalate it into a full dispute.

Thanks, it let me escalate to a full dispute, too. And then I was able to choose to issue a full refund once I receive the card back. Thanks for your help.
