I've actually found my way to this specific forum before now. I was logging and noticed that the home page just seems to have a bunch of plain boring old text with an outdated system message in the front of the screen. All though I'm not trying to put down the way it is now, I feel as if we had any type of visual or news section or anything else for that matter to capture our interest it could spike site traffic. Or it couldn't hurt. Just my two cents! Thanks.

I like that idea, maybe featuring prize cards picked from member's private collection, kind of like what the gallery has going on the side bar, what's wrong with having that front & center on the home page? Everyone likes to see what others have as their prize collecting centerpieces….

True. Maybe implemete a system linked the new gallery feature. Encouraging members to upload pictures to new albums which would be randomly or picked from to be displayed daily on the front page. Good idea.

I think the page design is OK, and could high light top card pulls through visual means and the site is user friendly (laymen here) but I do think if you add a full write up on the trader of month highlighting his/her collections, shop, eBay, webpage could be added to the Blog section. In addition to the above how about highlighting any beginner or advance collectors in a write up once a month, will make the site a tighter fit.

I never go to Sports Card Forum however I just visited for the fist time in ages. The site is set up EXACTLY like this down to the blogs. I feel as if we need something to set us apart other than the wood background. The Bench will always be my home (our home) so lets make it unique and different? Just a thought! thanks

Truthfully,

I'm happy the way the site is laid out as is. Very user-friendly. Pictures would be for me very distracting.

Just my $0.02

I like the layout, but I agree about the front page. There is nothing less than a year old on the front page. That makes the site look a lot deader than it really is, and doesn't exactly encourage further exploration.

One thing that separates The Bench from SCF is the trade manager. We lost some of the appeal in the upgrade, but it's much better that SCF.
