Players of Interest for Children in Haiti??

Hey guys and gals, my wife's church sponsors a children's organization in Haiti and she has asked me to put together some lots of cards that could be sent to them, along with the normal goods and supplies that they normally send. I am trying to think of the players that are currently playing in the majors, or retired, that would likely appeal to the kids in that area. I could do a lot of research, but thought that I would ask for some help, as I have limited time to put the card lots together. If you can think of players that you think might be a good fit, it would help me a lot in deciding who to send. There is limited space, so I am looking to send six to eight 800-count boxes. I am not sure that baseball is followed at all in Haiti, but I know that, if anything, they can probably identify better with the Dominican players. Also, Pierre Garcon (WR for the Redskins) is of Haitian descent. l'll follow this thread and see if I can help you. Good luck.

I was thinking they might be interested in Dominican players, Puerto Rican players or maybe even Venezuelan players like Omar Vizquel. I don't know that there would be a particular team of interest, so thought that I would try to come up with individual players. Thanks for any help you can provide in helping me brainstorm. Just did a quick Google search and it looks like they have started some sort of baseball association since NOV of 2011. Also saw that Felix Pie is listed as the only Haitian MLB player. I'll see how many Dominican player cards I can gather and send them your way.
