Is it laminated? It should be more like cardboard since it was cut from a cereal box.

Thanks for the links guys. I don't know what I have here. Did they make reprint sets of these? Could someone have really laminated this card? It's a $2,000.00 card. Maybe a fake?

What are the dimensions of the card? I found some information in another auction that it should be approximately 7" x 8 3/4."

That could have been reprinted or laminated too. Check the almanac for detailed info, such as dimensions and design.

Even laminated, you'd have a nice piece that would sell well. if it's the real deal. Mantle buyers are crazy!

I'm guessing the card isn't legit then. It measures 2 3/4 x 3 3/8. I wonder what the heck it's from? It's a beautiful card. If anyone has an opinion, please share!

With it being blank backed and the size of a traditional card, I wonder if it is just a Broder card from the late 80s or early 90s?

The only reason I suggested that is because I can't find anything on Beckett or by searching Google where it seems to have been legitimately reprinted the way many other Mantles have been.

yoou have to remember becketts if good but its hardly complete for any player pr collector, their are always odd ball stuff that becketts never lists. you just have to research it and sometime sone one in here will know the answer. maybe if ou could add some scans it will help out too.

probably a Broder card that came out when the Mick passed away...there was a flood of them that hit right after that...a few were just reprints of older oddball cards.
