Man oh man... the second box of magazines was worse that the first! Rural Arkansas means alot of fields... which have alot of little critters... a few (or many) must have found their way into the boxes, especially the second one, and went to town on the paper. The critters tear the paper and make beds with it. These were all in a "Double Wide" trailer where I lived for a few years. I only used half of it since it was just me who lived there. The 2 tiny rooms on the side I didn't use was used for storage. So you can imagine those little critters pretty much having free range on that side. The boxes that the magazines were in are cardboard, so it was easy for them to get in and destroy just about all of them!
Anywho... this is what I came away with from the second box:

It says Frank Sinatra took this photo...

What is the date on the fold out cover one? I think that is from a muddy playoff game in 1965 which was Jim Brown and Lou Groz's last game. That may have been the NFL Championship game.

Date it came out was Oct. 14, 1966
Check out some of the photos from the article...

It seems to be a general article on the violence of pro football. The mud game with the Browns I'm pretty certain in the last NFL Championship game before the first Super Bowl. There are also pics of Colts vs Packers at the bottom so it seems to be a feature type article.

And I know #32 for the Chiefs is Curtis McClintoin. How do I know? I just know. Ya' know? LOL

Great pics from the era of how football should be played which is in the elements!!!

There's also photos of Cardinals vs Browns, Bears vs Colts, and Oilers vs Patriots
I get a kick outta the advertisements! The car advertisements are on every other page, it seems.... '67 Plymouth Belvedere Satellite.... never even heard of this beast! 383cu in. V8...

April 13, 1962 is the one you want. It has the Mantle and Maris Post cereal cards in it. Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor on the cover.

Last LIFE magazine, I promise. This wasn't in the boxes in my old "house" luckily. I found this in my Grandma's basement after she passed and the family was getting items ready for the estate sale.
Isn't she beautiful???

Those LIFE magazines are a cool piece of American ephemera! Very Nice!

Scobes
I had to look that-there ephemeral word up. I thought it was a bad word or something. Please lower your posts to a 4th grade reading level so I can understand them. Like Howard Cosell, this Scobes guy is! LMAO!!!!

It means veiny right? Like the mags are part of the veins that make up American history...
