Has anybody heard of anyone getting any of the big money cards? From everything I have seen from this promotion it seems like a joke. I can get the vast majority of these cards at the card shop in Oxford,Mass for about 10 cents each. And if I get enough of them they will be cheaper. I am glad that I did not try and get anything from this promotion. I am sure that plenty of people on this site have enough 1993 Topps laying around to start their own promotion.

Maybe I am wrong but it seems like a big joke to me.

My opinion is that they screwed the collector by not marking these buybacks as they have in the past with foil stamps, embossing or serial numbers. Getting a 1988 Chuck Crim card is meaningless. Getting one that is stamped or limited may still be meaningless to most, but some Brewers or Crim collector may be extremely happy to add something old, yet "new".

I have not heard mention of a big money card myself. The best I can remember reading about on the card boards was someone getting a 50s star player, but not one of the superstars. Like a Bill Skowron or Jim Gilliam type player.

I haven't heard of any great hits from this promotion on any of the boards I frequent. I would think if collectors were getting early Mantles, Aarons, short prints, or other superstar players it would get out there.

I have been hearing alot of people complaining about condition, most of your older cards look nice, some of the '73 looks alot better then the '79 rookie does. Id also like to know how much shipping was?

Interesting stuff. I could see why you redeemed all the older stuff because its cool. Especially the 69 rookies but I dont see the point in redeeming some of that the shipping is a little high in my opinion to be recieving cards like a 2007 mike lamb or 1987 ozzie smith.

Do you have a certain amount of time to get them?

Here's my first order.. I'm working on another order of around 500+ cards.. I have a Strasburg so the order will get shipped free

The 53 and 54 came out really nice.. considering others I've seen

topps2.jpg
The sporting news are all miscut but the Russ Meyer despite being oc has sharp corners and looks like it was just pulled from a pack.

topps3.jpg
Great looking, barely any with creases..The background shot for Hal Brown is great

topps4.jpg
My only complaint is that they sent me the wrong 67 card.. I should have gotten a 67 Paul Schaal 58A Green Bat ($20).. they sent me the regular version ($1.50). I called the customer service for Topps and they said they'd get back to me and send the card out asap... this was months ago and they've ignored my phone calls/emails since.

Added comment on opening post and I will put it here also

I had a little over 1,000 cards shipped to me yesterday. The box weighed 29lbs.. every card was shipped in a penny sleeve and top loader.. the condition was so-so.. some were bad, some were decent. I also had 19 parallels of Tiffany, 92 gold, 93 marlins and rockies, redback, 01 hta.

The bad:

The decent.. Strasburg has a dinged corner..

On a positive note, I don't have to worry about sleeves and toploaders for a while. I am going to see if I can get the strasburg replaced since it is considered a prize card but after already experiencing Topps customer service with this promotion, I don't expect that happening.
