Ok, so here we go with the first submission group thread. There are a few things I'd like to lay out to make sure everything is as clear as possible while we kick this off, so here's how it'll work.

The cost is currently $19.99 per card, plus taxes and shipping. As this is my first time doing a submission, I can't be certain how much that will be. I assume taxes will my state tax rate, which is .0825%, but I can't be sure at all on the return shipping from PSA back to me.

  1. Members will have until May 5 to commit to sending cards in on this group submission.
    • Please post here the number of cards you're going to be sending in, along with which category they go in. For any cards produced in 1979, or earlier, those will go in the vintage group. For any cards produced in 1980, or later, those will go in the modern group. It's important that you specify how many from each group because they can't be submitted to PSA together and we have to have 20+ in each group to submit that group.
  2. Members will then have until May 16 to get your cards in to me.
  3. I'll add all the cards to the order on the PSA site and get a total cost from them including all service costs, taxes, and shipping back to me from PSA. I'll divide that total amongst the number of cards being submitted and each person will pay that amount per card.
  4. Once I've collected all the payments, hopefully by May 19, I'll package the submission and send it on its way to PSA. At that time there's a 65 day turnaround time from them.
  5. Once I receive the cards back from PSA, I'll do a live reveal video of me opening the package from PSA so we can 1) see what all the cards came back graded as and 2) so we can make sure there are no issues with any of the slabs as they come out of the box from PSA.
  6. After that I'll message each member of the group, individually, to determine how you want the cards sent back to you (bubble mailer, priority, etc), then you'll cover that cost and I'll get them headed your way.
Please watch the following video for instructions on how to package your cards. The most important thing to note is that standard cards cannot be sent in a toploader. They must be sent in a semi-rigid holder. I will be purchasing a box of those so if you want to send your cards to me in a toploader and have me swap them to a semi-rigid I'll do that free of charge. However, I cannot be held responsible for any damage to the card by me swapping the holder. Of course I'll treat every card as if it were my own, and will be as careful as I possibly can to prevent any damage, but I wanted to include this disclaimer regardless.

Also, I will be creating transactions with each member once I have all the cards in-hand and I know what the final cost, to PSA, will be.

Please note that if you're only submitting a single card, you may not be saving any money with this bulk discounted pricing. Simply because you'll have to pay an extra shipping fee from me back to you, that will probably eat up that $5 you're saving from the submission fee. However, you should save at least a few bucks with the second card, depending on how you want me to ship back to you, and the more cards you submit the more you'll save per card (on average).

Also, in the event that any members submit the exact same card I will first try to take photos of any differences in the cards. If there are no differences that I can tell from the naked eye (centering, edges, corners, etc), then the cards will be added to the group on a first-come first-serve basis meaning I'd submit the first one I receive and send the others back to their owner(s). I don't want to get into a situation where the cards look exactly the same to me then they're returned to me with different grades and we can't determine which card belongs to which member. I'm thinking the cards are probably sent back in the same order that they're sent to them in, but this being the first submission I can't be certain of that yet so I think the first-come first-serve is the best way to handle it this time.

If y'all have any other questions, please ask. In the meantime, please let me know how many cards you're going to commit to sending, and which category they belong to. As soon as we get to the number of at least 20 cards, members will be able to start sending the cards my way and we'll start the process.

Here's a list of participants, and how many cards they're submitting. Again, we need 20+ cards in each group to be able to submit that group.
