I see that in the latest issue of Beckett there is a short-print variation of card #279 (Bengie Molina). Does anyone know what the variation might be? I have the card.

Thanks in advance for your input.

His birthday. On the rare, expensive version, his birthday lists him as being born in the 1990's rather than the 1970's.

This might also be a good place for a reminder: on the back of the card near the bottom right corner is a tracking number or serial number (in very small print). If that number ends in 01 or 03, then you have the base card. If it does not, then you have something else. The inserts follow that pattern, and at least this year, the Heritage SPs and the S1/S2 sparkles do as well.

Thanks DP, that's the first I've heard of that. I have 4 Topps Series 2 Sparkles and they all end with 29.

His birth year is 1994 on the card. I know because I have the card and been waiting to see what one sells for on the fee-bay. Just to get an idea of what its value is. right now I am putting 150.00 since one has not sold yet. ( but of course mine is not for sale or trade)

I have seen one sell on ebay before (shortly after it was announced). It sold for over $80. It supposedly isn't any shorter than the other SSP's, but it certainly is gonna appear that way just because it is Benjie Molina. I wonder how many people are sitting on sets and duplicates that have this card in there......
