I was hoping to make this thread before the NBA settled their strike but I still look forward to the thoughts of basketball card collectors on The Bench.

I am interested in hearing to what extent did the strike discourage you from collecting cards of this sport? Or did you collect more?

Also, I checked Blowout cards and there are only 3 releases for the NBA season out right now. I can only assume there are MANY more by this time under a normal year. Are the limited amount of releases because of the strike? Or is this normal?

Thanks in advance for your responses,

Frank

i noticed there weren't alot out also, and only assumed it was because of the lockout.

i just got a blaster of UNC basketball, and was happy with the jordans i pulled.

Didn't really effect my collecting/buying habits, but I sold nothing basketball card wise, as I figured they wouldn't sell very well.

I'm pretty sure the limited number of boxes are due to the lockout. For example, 2010-11 Panini Prestige was released September 29th of last year. There seems to be no upcoming releases listed as well.

Does Panini have certain products ready to now be released or were they able to not do anything (have players sign cards, etc.) due to the lockout?

It just made it harder for me to get going on collecting the newest Nuggets - Kenneth Faried and Jordan Hamilton as nothing has been released yet!
