Red Sox bummer

I just want to rant.
I have gotten many IP successes this year, and I had a blast doing so, but tonight there was supposed to be a dinner with Tim Wakefield. A few weeks ago I bough a ticket for $35 to this dinner, which was supposed to have Tim Wakefield as a special guest. I show up tonight and I learn that Wake has canceled and Terry Francona is supposed to take his place. There is even a huge sign that said "Welcome Terry Francona, Red Sox Manager, bla bla bla..."
After an hour we learned that Terry is not going to show up because his grandmother had just passed away. I am not mad, I understand and agree that he should be with his family. So after the event, I ask the lady who was heading up the event if I could have the big sign that introduced Francona. She gave it to me, and I was happy. Immediately after I got it, an older gentleman said to me "That is my sign, I live in Terry's home town" and took the sign from me, and left.
Once again the Red Sox left me heartbroken.

Yea, I met him earlier in the day, before he found out about his grandmother. I was able to have him sign for me then.
