I assumed this one was lost b/c it is a reliable signer and was sent over a year ago..Apparently someone misplaced this piece of mail but it returned today from nearby Waxahachie, Texas(nicknamed Gingerbread City)..

Ray Crone 2/1

Crone came up with the Braves and was on a team that included Aaron, Mathews, Spahn and Burdette. Interesting of note, he also played with Red Murff, who is best known as the scout that discovered Nolan Ryan...IN '57 Crone was traded with Bobby Thomson to SF for Red Schoendienst...He toiled unsuccessfully in the minors for awhile and just like Murff, became a scout...He is still a scout at age 79 for the San Diego Padres...

He included the following note "I am sorry for the delay in replying. This had gotten mixed in with some material and it slipped my mind.
There is so much involved with the pitching motion that it is hard to single out one thing, but I would recommend starting out square to the home plate, have some rhythm and turn to the delivery, and a 3/4 arm slot is usually the least strain on the arm.
Tell Clayton to just enjoy himself, watch other successful players."
Very nice of him to include that...

Thanks for reading!!

I love responses like that! What a terrific success! Reminds me of a success I had with former House Speaker, Jim Wright, several years ago. My resquest had gotten lost in his desk for a couple of years, and he sent me back a rather lengthy hand written letter...in addition to a signed photo. Needless to say, that was an extremely cool response from someone who used to be one of the most powerful men in our government.
