Okay, I have a question for all of you guys who get Mini Helmets signed. I started to go this route since I have become fed up with balls yellowing over time. I picked up a mini today, for some IP action, and the store owner warned me that the new mini's that come in those display cases have a slick lacquer that causes Sharpies and Paint Pens to bubble. Have any of you guys had that experience? If so, what have you done to correct the problem? The store owner said to rub some rubbing alcohol on the bill and that will take off the thick stuff, like rubbing those heavily glossed cards rubs off the thick gloss to take a sig. Has this worked for you and how well?

Okay, so I guess that was a FEW questions about the same subject....:D

Well, honestly I am not sure. Once, I bought one of those, and sure enough it did bubble up. I usually like to use the really mini helmets that you get when you buy ice cream at a game, those get signed easily.
My guess on what to do to get the gloss off would be either the rubbing alcohol, or someone once told me that rubbing pantyhose on something glossy will take the gloss off without scratching it.
I hope this helped.

I was thinking the same thing. The pantyhose thing is what I use for those glossy cards and it works extremely well.
