Some first look, Yet another baseball set thats supposedly "NEw" That is simply gonna run through a bunch of overused designs. Seriously, If I never see another reissue of the 52 Topps design I would be happy. At least theyve added in a few things they havent reissued already like the cloth cards but still, I can't believe that once again we are getting a new product that isnt new.

I have always liked the idea of old players with new card designs or new players on old designs, retro, flashback or whatever it's being called at the moment. I think the card makers rammed it into the ground though, but when done with some unique touches, it's still nice.

I guess it still sells strong for them, otherwise that idea will go the way of many others that weren't getting it done in the sales dept!

I do like the idea (which isn't new either) of having certified autos of the original players, Finding living members of the 52 Topps set will get harder and harder to find and having some certified cards will be a nice change to the archive and collector issue cards, but I suspect that just like Heritage, they will limit them (maybe 52 copies, how original???) and make them ridiculously expensive. I mean, who really wants to pay $40-50 for a common guy who signed for free for years, just because it's certified and limited? Not me, but enough people have with the Heritage issues to keep it rolling.

I've already boycotted topps cards, with the exception of the usa stuff and bowman. I'm so sick of this junk I don't even bust a pack of it anymore. The jumbo jeter does look nice though.

If the consumer continues to buy everything, they won't stop producing. Wouldn't it be nice though if Topps would start putting some of these more "cutting edge" insert sets into their base issue, rather than dumping the same junk in year after year.

I could not agree more. I would love to have a set that is just a set like the old days. I miss that. I am very tired of the inserts Topps produces.

Thanks,

Jeff
