I remember Joe as a broadcaster when I was young. He happened to grow up on the same block in St Louis as Yogi Berra.
The “Italiano” block for sure……Broadcasting the game of the week with Vin Scully…… Those two did the ‘86 World Series too…..

I posted on the MLB topic about all the torn/ruptured Achillies Tendon injuries these days not only in sports but also in mundane daily activities. Aaron Rodgers, Kevin Durant and Kobe Bryant are just a few of the many, many Achillies injuries in recent years mostly in non contact situations. It is like an epidemic of this injury. I totally forgot Halliburton suffered this as well in the 2025 playoffs. And nobody seems to look into why this happens so frequently now like they have with the stunning amount of Tommy John surguries with MLB pitchers.
My 1968 set is nearly complete but this particular Mantle card is one I've never had a nice copy of. The regular 1968 Mantle is not a problem to get but this Superstars card has eluded me for a long time. I just checked and I have dups of all three guys in 1968 Topps but this card? Might as well be the T-206 Wagner for me.
Another 1968 I need is the Tigers team which Scobes posted a picture of a beautiful copy of a while back. You guys are taunting me with these pics.

I'd love to but I am not tech saavy at all which is why I don't post pictures here as much as I want to. About 5 years ago I made a trade with Peterosefan1 and had to have our old LCS owner text him the pics of my 1992 Bownan Mariano Rivera RCs for him to choose from on our trade. Unfortunately I don't even have that option acvailable anymore as the LCS owner moved out of the area,
I will die on the hill, that it's specializing in one sport too early. I have been listening to the Road to Cooperstown podcast and almost everyone interviewed in the first season mentioned this same thing.
`Another thought is the playing surfaces. I know football ones have changed a lot over the years and I wonder if basketball surfaces have as well.
Rumor had it that your recent absence was due to you falling victim to "The mean streets of McGehee, Arkansas". Glad to see that was not the case!
