hey guys, regarding the sp legendary cuts product, im looking to pick up some HOF cut autos, so, is it better to:

1. buy a case?
2. use the money i would buy a case to buy individual cut autos instead?

also,

do you recommend to buy a "guranteed auto hot pack"?

anyone have any luck buying boxes or cases of any of the sp legendary cuts?

what are the best years to buy?

thanks guys for any and all help with the above questions.

A friend bought a pack of 2011 sp that I passed on. It ended up being a 1/1 Honus Wagner cut auto. I had a heartattack right there and then.

Given the price of SP Cuts and the overall odds of your autograph pulls it makes a lot more sense to just buy cut autos.

Those hot packs are all from pack searchers, if that's something you want to support that's up to you but that is something highly frowned upon in the hobby.

I would never buy another guaranteed hit/hot pack. Don't know about SP but a few years ago I bought a bunch of hot packs (about 20). I can't say for certain they were tampered with but thay all had the absolute worst g/u or autos that were possible, and several dupes at that. Never again.

OUCCCHHHHH !!

thanks guys for the responses. yes, i think ill pass on the hot packs. i was just seeing what everyone thoughts are on hot packs. i was just thinking of buying a case to see what i get in it, but then starting thinking, maybe its better to just use that money to buy individual cuts.

I do not know how picky you are on the cuts you want. But in a case you may get two non HOF'ers or the cuts comeing from a post card or photo. If you buy them as a single you can pick one that looks good to you.

Why waste your money on cut autos to begin with? The prices are artificially inflated due to a percieved scarcity that does not exist. Spend $100 on a boudreau cut or buy 2-3 famers you actually want? IN the long run, once the novelty wears off..and it will you'll get no value back from cuts
