Stan Musial Topps RC?

hey guys, what year is Stan Musial Topps RC? is it 1959? I think he started playing in 1941 but i cant find any topps cards for before 1958 topps AS and then a regular topps issued card in 1959. is his RC 1958 topps AS or 1959 topps? any help? thanks

I would say its the 1948 Bowman #36. PSA has a[R] on its listing.

1948 Bowman is considered by most to be his RC. He didn't sign a contract with Topps, thus wasn't included in their sets.

After looking at it I would call it the 1959 #50. Only for the reason it gives stats and not being a set sub-set. Once again its a case of its all about the money.

1959 Topps #150 is the earliest Musial Topps card outside of the all-star subset according to Beckett.

cool, thanks dewayne, thats what i was leaning toward, but then when i saw he had a 1958 topps All-Star card issued, I wasnt too sure which was his actual RC. Thanks so much, I always appreciate your help.

correction...the 1958 AS is the first. I was looking at the 1959 Topps 150. My apologies.

Musials only RC is his 1948 Bowman #36 None of his Topps issued cards are considered RC's

thanks for the info, but for us that are trying to collect PC of signed HOF TOPPS RCs. I was wondering if I should go with 1958 AS or 1959 Topps in regards to a TOPPS HOF RC collection.

I personally like the regular issue over the subsets from the main set but it is relative to what your desired priority is: earlier card or base card. The AS card is cheaper but either would be nice to have. I am still waiting on my Musial RC signed

thanks dewayne, is that the 59 topps or the bowman your waiting on? im only collecting topps rcs, not bowman personally.

I have a signed 48 Bowman (R) incoming. I was really stoked about getting that one, along with a few others I am just getting a rookie card regardless of brand (Donruss, Fleer, Topps, UD, etc). I prefer PSA but if one of the other services are used I won't hold that against the card, lol.

lol...thats cool Dewayne. im trying to get all of the Topps for now and then maybe later get some Bowman, fleer, etc. Thanks for your help on this.
