Just to make this clear, this was at a little league game and not the Astrodome. I just mentioned the Astrodome as for examples after that time.

I know. I read your story. You don't have to bold it, Rob. It was cool of Cesar to sign for you...and multiples, as well. I thought it was a great story, because I know from experience during his playing days he was brutally tough. He's still a tough sig today, unless you get him at a show or a signing.

Sorry. I always bold after QUOTES because it stand out better when reading. Not yelling. LoL!

was jeff blauser in 1991 on my little league baseball cap. Thought it was really cool to get an autograph of a major league player and have been hooked sense then.

Mookie Wilson at an in-store signing for The Wiz electronics around 1986 (I think). I still have it on my wall today.

I dont remember who my first autograph was. It was likely at the annual little league dinner.

The one i remember the most and will always cherish however....

One time and one time only I stood outside of the players outfield exit at Shea. Got a couple of autos on a ball, but mainly i felt horrible because i felt to get near a player id have to knock some little kid outta the way, which i saw a bunch of middle ages guys doing...So I start to head back to the car and see a tall fella about 10 feet away, who I immediately recognize as John Olerud.

"Hey there! how ya doin !!"

"Good you ?"

"Great! Hey John , I just want to say that I think you should completely ignore this hubbub in the media. Your wife is having a difficult pregnancy and if you need to go be with her, go be with her! If people dont understand that you need to be with your family in a time of crisis then the heck with em."

He smiled, extended his hand and we shook.

"God Bless. Hey I see ya got a ball there, want me to sign it??"

"Oh yeah forgot all about that. Thanks John!"

I never got the chance to start graphing until I was older, but I did have a great experience with Jason Hardtke. I saw him before a Helena Brewers game hitting fly balls to the team (he was the batting coach of the visiting team) and I yelled "Jason!", and he came right over, I told him I was a Mets fan and we chatted for a moment, and he thanked me for asking him to sign, then I asked him if Gil Heredia was around (pitching coach of the visiting team) and he said "Yeah, I think he's in the clubhouse, do you want me to get him?" I said no I'll just wait until he comes out, then thanked him for signing my cards. Hardtke was the most gracious and down to earth player I have ever met!
