One of the things I am collecting right now is the 2011 Nameplates sets (regular and black) - a few weeks ago I was scouting around on eBay and came across a job lot of 2011 Topps stuff. Included was a Black Leather Markakis /99, a complete set, and 10 of the Kimball Champions minis. The box came and I set the complete set to the side and didn't think much of it. Well, I decided to check and make sure it was complete today and for whatever reason I decided to look for sparkle cards as well, not expecting anything. I get to card #214, turn it over and see a big old sparkle staring back at me from Mr. Utley's glove. Glad I looked!

So, after pulling the Utley I went through all of my extra 2011 Topps and found no other Sparkles. This morning, I got to thinking that I should just check my hand collated set that I have been working on. I started working my way through the set and got to #290 and turned it over. Lo and behold Ike Davis has a star exploding out of his chest! A second sparkle! I need to pay more attention when I am opening packs apparently!
