Super, super depressing for any player collector...

Why, was that your card? Sad you had to sell it, but with that amount of money, you should be able to buy many more other cards unless hard times forced you to sell.

That's a lot of money for a sticker autograph, even though it's a 1/1. I would rather have his Sport Kings on card autograph for 1/10 of the price.

No, that is on the 'dream' list for this Rice collector.

I just bought my very first Rice 1/1 and it was just a simple plate. They are insanely hard to find and if they hit ebay the above scenario happens. There are some monster Rice collectors with huge pockets.

I feel your pain. I collected Ripken for a few years, but I gave it up when I knew that I would have to have very deep pockets, especially for auto's and 1/1's.

REAL wide receivers that aren't divas are hard to come by. Can't beat Jerry Rice. I think the closest I have come to liking any other receiver is Andre Johnson. Just hope he can stay healthy long enough to make a permanent mark.

I once tried to win Frank Thomas Superfractor (1/1) on ebay about three years ago....gave up after it when over $300.00! Best regards, David

I always liked Marvin Harrison until he started shooting at people.

My brother collects Moss, and I can only fathom what he could have accomplished with his skill set and talent with Jerry Rice's drive and motivation.

When I read that, I got the image from "The Last Boy Scout" when that running back ran down the field mowing players down.....

Totally agree with the Moss analysis as well.

I feel the same way about my Gehrigs. He is expensive enough without the low-numbered, game used included. There is no way I will ever get all of his cards that aren't numbered much less all of the numbered cards but it is still fun trying.
