I have 3 cards that need a screw down holder. They're in top loaders now, I dont trust the mag holders...
Each card has to be at least 300 pt. Anyone know where to find screw down holders for this size card?
They could be thicker than 300 pt. Anyone know how to determine thickness? Is there a site that lists card thickness? Thanks for any help!!

You could get a 20 or 25 card count slide or snap case? Ebay, ultra pro, bcw, or local card shop.

U mean the case with the hinges? I used one for a while on the Emmitt card... again, just dont trust them. I've dropped a few cards that were in cases that open essily and pretty much ruined the card. I'd like the screw down option so when I drop it, it doesn't open up and have a chance to get dinged corners or scratched surface.
I guess in a top loader will be the best option...

How thick is your card? Is it a booklet? 300 point is thick.
Thats what I want to find out... maybe 280.
These are the cards:
2014 Five Star Golden Graphs Bo Jackson Auto /30
2011 U.D. Sweet Spot Sigs (Red Helmet) Ryan Mallett /199
1997 Excalibur 22K Game Used Helmet Emmitt Smith

You could used a top loader and place the top loader in a team bag. That's how I store all my autos and gu.
True... true.... for a while I had the Emmitt in a top loader with ultra clear tape covering the top. I think that's the thickest one out of the 3. they make Mag Holders for super thick cards and the other 2 are in those, but my OCD gets going when I see those 2 sticking up above the rest of the cards in the box. Call me crazy.....

Let me ask you why you do not like the mag holders?
Well the main reason is just if I drop one it has a better chance of coming open and the card inside being damaged. I have hard wood floors so it's happened before... Also (if you look through my flickr) I'm a little OCD when it comes to organizing... also with the appearance of the cards in the box. I don't know why, but the tall mag holders just bothered me sticking up randomly. Thennnn... lol if you notice they don't put the magnets on the same side on the same thickness of holder. A 35pt holder may have positive on the front and a 55pt holder may have negative on the front... so if you stack them they're not gunna stay straight cuz the magnets are opposite... I'm just kooky like that I guess.

If you are using screw downs be sure not to tighten the holder up too much as it may make the card thinner. If you get it graded that is one of the things they check. I was shocked when I heard this as one could not see that thickness/thinness with the naked eye. A card that suffers this damage will get an A foir altered.

That is scary since screw downs were the SOP for decades prior to the "Pre Grading" era. How many millions of raw cards were sold in the 80s, 90s, 00s and 10s before this became a thing?

I'd never put a card in any holder that squishes it. Kinda defeats the purpose...

At least you have reasons! I get the OCD, all true collectors are OCD about how are collections are stored. Really just collecting is a form of OCD!

I also have a mixture of hardwood and tiles for the flooring in my house depending on where you are at, so I fully get your issue there.

I do like the mags over the screw downs, mainly because if I ever want to remove the card I don’t want to have to go get a screwdriver! I also have PTSD from the old 80s and 90s screw downs. I ruined so many cards having them in those for years and then my cards got ripped in half when I removed them. I know these are very different, but the PTSD is real!

What I do is put a small piece of painters tape over the magnets after the card is in, then I put each one in a team bag. Now if it gets dropped, it does not open.

I cannot help with the polarization of the different size mags though. What if you were to put the card in backwards, then you would be able to have North to North and South to South?

I was gunna mention that I too put tape on the top edge of my mag holders when I used them. But you know how annoying it is when the edge of the tape starts to fray. I guess it just comes down to trying to make the card look its best in the case or top loader.
And there's no way I'd be smart enough to get all the magnets to line up... that sounds like a rubic cube puzzle!
You mentioned those holders from the 90s... remember the simple 35pt plastic cases that just snapped down around the edges? I really liked those.

I did like the snap cases. If I remember, the biggest problem then was they only made one size, which was always either too big or too small

I wish they would bring those back, or I could find some old ones.

So here's a pic of one of my Cowboys boxes... super organized. Also, if I had any of the mag cases sticking up, the lid wouldn't go down all the way... so there's that too. Cards in the background are new arrivals. They're kinda on display till the next round of newbies come in... some stay "on display" longer than others but it's just a spot I can line them up and appreciate them for a bit before going into boxes...
