I don't think anybody could come even close. There just isn't enough activity on here to do it. I would love to be putting up at least 125 a month but I can't even do that. There might be 20 real active traders on here a month. DG

There might be many more people in the hobby but they find trading a waste. I tell collectors all the time about the trading boards and it is a lot of work to keep up a trade list. Most of the peoples mentality they can just go buy what they want. You add shipping cost and the price of busting new product and the time spent making trades. Thats just my humble opinion. DG

Less set builders now. Less true collectors now. Everyone wants the same 3-4 players.

You are corect in there are a lot less collectors post Pandemic and set builders are very hard to find. I have a very tough time making trades since 90-95% of the topics are 2026 baseball and I don't do anything with ultra modern cards. Much like after the junk era craze most people Post Pandemic realized buying cards retail was a horrible investment. And much like the Post Junk Era, many, many of these grifters are long gone from the hobby.

Throw in the cost of postage and trading really gets hurt. I have a 900 count box mailed to me in 2006 from Massachusetts to Upstate NY that weighed nearly 4 lbs. (3lbs 14.60 oz to be exact) The cost was $5.60 Priority. I shudder to think what that would cost now. Certainly it would be more than the cards in the 900 count box are worth today. With postage being so much it is better to find good buys instead of trading in many cases.

So you'll never see monthly numbers like those ever again.

Pretty much, although less interest in trout now because he isn't good anymore. There are actually more people in the hobby now than in 2006, but most aren't collectors. Shipping isn't that bad if you use pwe or just make bigger trades to make bubble mailers worth while. Also the younger generation is extremely lazy and can barely read or write. They dont have the patience to make a tradelist and tend to only want high $$ cards that they think will make them millionaires in a few years.

I have had a few collectors ask me why online traders are still using BV for trades like its ancient…the recent sales values (comps) unfortunately like it or not drive the market…so when I invite them to join trade sites like the Bench they laugh at me…

I was happy with the days when both parties could use Beckett for trades. Digging out sales value is a real pain and those prices can vary. Prices drop quickly after a product has been released. Agree with everyone with their reasoning. Postage is the biggest killer for me, even though most mailings are pwe. And Fanatics has ruined Topps Heritage for me. Not everyone thinks change is good.

100%, this is the last year for me then done with Heritage.........Too many parallels and dupes........
