The last few YSL cards needed before the big charity auction!

Will you get the special set they offered to the first 5 people who completed the set? Have 5 people done this yet? Last I knew, two people had completed it.

1131, 2105 and 4767. Best regards, David

Can we get a list of duplicate YSL cards that we have to offer. I'm thinking it would be a lot easier to post a trade list on other sites. People might be willing to trade 3 for 1 and part with a card they don't have a dup of, if we had a list. I think this is vital.

Most of the duplicates we have are 3-7 of the same cards, it seems the few people left doing this set already have those as well since they are the very common ones. I would do a 100-1 trade if I could find one of those cards :)

I have about 75 or 80 that I would add to any trade to get us those last 3.

I don't post on here much any more and don't have a say in the decision obviously, but was very excited for this endeavor when it started. The effort by the members here collectively have been amazing, especially the drive of a couple super members who have owned this thing from the start. However, am I the only one that feels like "we" missed the boat on this and have drug it out way too long? The set came out in 2008 and wrapped up in 2009 products and here it is 2016 (7-8 year later) and the Bench set has been complete for quite some time and we are still trying to upgrade 3 less than mint cards if I am correct in my understanding. Is it going to make that much of a difference in the auctioning of a 6000+ cards set? I doubt it. The money raised could be doing some good now, but it is not because we have not even sold the set. Is UD still willing to provide the prizes it originally committed? What about the publicity for the site? The story will still be big in that it is a charity effort, but the news of building the set is an old one now. I don't know how many sets have been built so far, as wiki only mentioned the first guy to do it, but I see that the first 5 set builders were going to get to meet Derek Jeter…in 2009!!!

Maybe I am the only one, but perhaps if nobody is willing to call it, a vote from the members to see if others feel it is time to close the book on it and push it to auction is a good idea?

The cards we still need are missing cards, the ones that needed to be upgraded have already been done so. The prizes from UD were actually sent to me years ago and have been stored away, I'll give them out when it's over.

You make valid points but, in my opinion, we've come this darn far I just want to see it get completed. I still think it will sell well at auction but will sell a lot better if it's a full set and not missing a few cards. That being said I am also more than willing to go along with what the majority thinks regarding this project.

For what it is worth I agree with Mr Mopar. Are we ever going to find these cards? I have been to countless shows and have not found them. If they are available it is not in the Northeast.

AS one of the top 3 donors, I would hate to not finish this project. We have a great story here and have a lot of people who helped get us to this point. Calling it done with 3 left to complete just doesn't sit well with me.

I say we finish, no matter how long it takes. Heck, I just finished my 2001 Donruss base set and am still working to find the last card for my 2004 Leaf set. I know lots of people still working on sets from the 70's and 80's. This is not different in my mind. This can and should be finished.

Just my .02.

Thanks,

I didn't realize it was still incomplete. My mistake. I thought I read somewhere that it was done, but that several were less than mint. I would agree that completion is the goal. Any knowledge on how many of each card were made? How can these three be so hard!!??
