This week started with the High Desert Mavericks in town on monday. Everyone on their team was very nice. Only downer was Donald Hume(pro debut) had just retired a day or 2 before I got to get my cards signed.
Then on thursday I went to the turlock mayors annunal prayer breakfast. My boss always sponsors a table and the guest speaker was Brian Holman(M's,Expos). He told some good stories and has been through a lot. Mainly older people attended and I was the only one with cards after the breakfast. He originally said he was only going to sign a few but once he saw I had so many different he signed them all. "I forgot I had so many different cards" he said.
Saturday I went to the local poker room to see Mike "The Mouth" Matusow. He was teaching a poker course and playing in the deep stacks tourney. He signed everything and is just as he seems on tv. He was cussing and being sarcastic. He said he needs to sign some cards for an upcoming poker card set coming out.
I wasnt planning on going to a game on sunday but once I heard Andres Torres and Mark DeRosa were rehabbing in fresno I decided to go. Lots of people were all over Torres so I didnt get any cards but did get him on my WS team ball project. DeRosa signed after the game. Jennie Finch attends most games with her husband being on fresno and got her on a card. Might have to bring some softballs next time.
BIG DISSAPOINTMENT- Brandon Belt no longer signs cards!!! He signed 40 of the elites for me last year and was super nice. Today he said "Sorry I cant sign cards I already got in trouble. I also cant sweet spot balls I signed a autograph contract." So a bummer but I did take a picture of him signing programs and things for kids. I may have to get some 8x10s or something. He is hitting .440 since being sent down.
