Dyar Miller 4/2 3 weeks
c/o St. Louis Cardinals

This has to be one of my favorite successes of the year. Dyar was in the minor leagues forever until he got called up to the show in 1975, at the age of 29, with the Baltimore Orioles. Miller always seemed to make the most of his talent. He was never an all star or a well known name, but he knew how to pitch. He left the playing field after the '81 season, but stayed in the game as a coach. He is currently the Cardinals roving pitching instructor. He graciously signed the 1976 and 1977 Topps I sent, and included a signed note and his signed Cardinals business card. How cool is that?!
